This accessibility statement explains how hyrynsalmi.fi web service complies with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, what accessibility issues exist on the site, and how you can give us feedback about accessibility problems.
This service is provided by the municipality of Hyrynsalmi. We want as many users as possible to be able to use our digital services. We take accessibility into account in the development of our digital services.

This service partially meets the A and AA level accessibility criteria required by law (WCAG 2.1 and 2.2). There are some accessibility shortcomings in the service, which are described in more detail below.

Content and Elements
- Some content requires horizontal scrolling when the site is used on a vertically oriented mobile device. (WCAG 1.4.10)
Use with a Screen Reader
- The service cannot yet be used fully without issues with screen readers:
- Breadcrumbs: The screen reader reads English-language content in connection with some breadcrumb links. (2.4.4)
- News page: The pagination in the search results contains links that lack descriptive names. (2.4.4)
- News page: There is a landmark that is named in a foreign language. (2.4.1)
- Site menus: The expandable buttons in some site menus lack clear programmatic names. The button names do not indicate which topic area each expandable button relates to. (1.3.1)
- Text content: Some text content has a programmatic heading hierarchy that does not correspond to the semantic structure of the page. (1.3.1)
- Text content: The semantic structure of some text content is difficult to perceive with a screen reader. (1.3.1)
- Headings: Some headings are not programmatically marked up as headings. (1.3.1)
- Contact information – search function: The search results are announced in a foreign language. (3.3.2)
- Contact information – search function: The search fields contain clear buttons that are named in the wrong language. (2.4.6)
- PDF-files: Not all files contain a programmatic structure, which means that a screen reader cannot determine the elements or reading order of the PDF file. (1.1.1)
Keyboard Use
- Keyboard focus stops multiple times in succession on some links. (2.4.3)
